Guess who’s back? When I announced a while back that I would be leaving TheSinBin.net, I assured the Orange Army and Mavs faithful that my radio silence (pun intended) would not be for long. It is no secret how much I love the game of hockey, and how the Kansas City Mavericks have a special place in my heart. So, as I was kicking around some potential ideas on how to proceed through my hockey life in the post-TSB era, I kept coming back to one central theme, and that was figuring out a way to take coverage of the Mavs to a whole new level.
So after having some discussions with those close to me, I came to the conclusion that it was time for me to come home, back to where it all started, right here on KCMavericks.com. After meeting with Mavs President & General Manager Brent Thiessen and Director of Communications Brandon Weiss, the creative juices started flowing. Between Adam Twenter, Ryan Gibson, and myself, we really feel, correction, we know that we can take the coverage and content to places it has never been before.
Speaking of those two yahoos, they wanted to chime in as well:
“I can't begin to put into words how excited I am for this opportunity. The passion that the three of us have for this sport and this team is undeniable. We bleed orange and this is an opportunity to bring you, the fan, insider coverage of the inner workings of this team more so than ever before.
I am looking forward to bringing minor league hockey and Kansas City Mavericks coverage to the Orange Army in a whole new way. Our goal is to be groundbreaking and set the standard for other teams to follow in how to cover their team and how to reach their fan base and engage them. The pregame show will be more interactive and easier to access. The in-game experience will be enhanced with the potential opportunities we will have to take fans inside the game. The written content will be instantly accessible through the Mavericks site and app. It truly will be a one-stop shop for everything you need to know about this team. Look for player stories, locker room coverage, post-game follow-ups, and much more.”

“I am so excited for the new opportunities of covering the Kansas City Mavericks that myself and my colleagues Joe Rozycki and Adam Twenter are planning to provide for the upcoming season and can’t wait for the puck to drop next year. I am thankful for the support of Mavericks Owner, Lamar Hunt, Jr., President and General Manager Brent Thiessen and Director of Communications Brandon Weiss.
Joe, Adam and I are hockey enthusiasts who take great pride in delivering quality analysis and the occasional “hot take” on the team. We are looking forward to expanding our coverage of the team before, during, and after the games along with the potential to expand our online print and audio/visual content as well.”
So here we are. We don’t have a lot of details as to what our plan is for this upcoming season. That would be way too proactive for Twenter, Gibby, and I. Those of you who tune into the pregame show can attest to that. We have a lot of ideas. We’re doing a lot of brainstorming. We have the support of Thiessen, Weiss, and Mavericks owner Lamar Hunt, Jr which means the world to us. What we do know is that this is going to be a lot of fun, and has the potential to be something really special. We hope to have more information soon, but for now, we’ll get back to the drawing board. October will be here before you know it, and the Mavs Insiders will be there every step of the way, bringing the sights, sounds, and stories of the Kansas City Mavericks directly to you.
