ALLEN, Texas (March 29, 2017) — The Missouri Mavericks dropped the first of two games against the Allen Americans by a score of 7-2.

The Allen Americans took charge of the game early as Tyler Barnes connected on the power play at 4:51 in the first period. Bryan Moore followed up with another goal as he buried one from the slot at the 9:19 mark. The Mavericks were unable to get their offense going in the opening frame as the Americans added another goal at 14:09 by Miles Liberati to make the score 3-0 after one period. Shots on goal favored Allen 13-3.
Allen made it 4-0 early in the second period as Josh Brittain redirected a point shot past Mavericks goalie, Josh Robinson, just 46 seconds in. The Mavericks got back into the game as they capitalized on the man advantage as Kevin Tansey and Eric Scheid each scored power play goals to narrow the Allen lead to just 4-2.
Bryan Moore scored his second goal of the game at 3:27 in the third period. Moore completed the hat trick as he fired one home at 16:44. The Americans completed their scoring as Alex Krushelnyski scored his sixth goal of the year. Josh Robinson made 24 saves in a losing effort, while Riley Gill turned aside 25 shots for the win.
