ALLEN, Texas (March 30, 2017) — The Missouri Mavericks could not get past the Allen Americans on Thursday night, losing for the second night in a row.

The Allen Americans got on the board first as Bryan Moore picked up a loose puck and put it past Mavericks goaltender, Josh Robinson, at 8:38 of the first period. The Mavericks responded later in the period as Conner Bleackley finished off a beautiful passing play to tie the game at 1-1. Missouri took an early lead in shots after the first period, 11-7.
The Mavericks took a 2-1 lead as Dane Fox scored his 30th goal of the season at 5:45 in the second period. The Americans countered with two goals by Wade MacLeod at 9:43 and 14:28 to take a 3-2 lead. Missouri tied the game up at 3-3 as Rocco Carzo was credited with a goal that pin-balled off both an official and an Americans player to beat a helpless Riley Gill.
Gregor Hanson gave Allen the lead early in the third as he netted his 34th goal at just 2:11 into the third period. Alex Krushelnyski extended the Americans lead to 5-3 with a power play goal, his 7th of the year. The Mavericks were quick to respond as Conner Bleackley netted his second goal of the contest at 6:11. After several great chances in the Allen zone in the final few minutes of the game, Dyson Stevenson put the game away with an empty net goal to make the score a 6-4 final.
Riley Gill made 29 saves for Allen while Josh Robinson made 23 saves for Missouri.
