OUTSHOT, BUT NOT GIVING UP
Utah set a new record last night against the Mavericks with 54 SOG. They broke the record set by Tulsa on 2/10 (53). Utah may have outshot the Mavericks 54-24, but they were unable to get past goaltenders Zach Nagelvoort (periods 1, 2) and Josh Robinson (period 3) to capitalize for a win.
Andrew Courtney added two assists to his sheet last night on the first and last goals by the Mavericks. Since his return from injury on March 22 Courtney has added 1 goal and 7 assists to his resume. He has 26 points on the season (9G, 17A).
Jared VanWormer played in his 9th game as a Maverick and tallied up his first professional point with an assist on Eric Scheid’s first period goal.
Dane Fox leads the ECHL in SOG this season at 362. His closest competitor, Matt Berry of the Florida Everblades, trails by 113 shots. Fox’s 362 SOG is ranked fourth highest in ECHL history.
