The Mavericks regular season schedule for the upcoming 2017-18 inaugural season as the Kansas City Mavericks is finally here!
The historic home opener for the newly named Kansas City Mavericks will be Saturday, October 28 with a 7:05 p.m. puck drop. The much anticipated New Years Eve game will be Sunday, December 31 with a 7:05 p.m. puck drop. Puck drops for Monday – Saturday games will be at 7:05 p.m. with the exception of a 7:35 p.m. on February 24 and a 10:35 a.m. on November 14. Sunday puck drops will remain at 4:05 p.m. with the only exception being New Years Eve at 7:05 p.m..
The Mavericks will face two new foes at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena in the 2017-18 season. The Kalamazoo Wings and the Florida Everblades have yet to skate on the Mavericks home ice.
The Everblades ended the 16-17 regular season clinching first in the South Division with a record of 46-21-5 and lost in the second round of the playoffs. Kalamazoo finished fourth in the Central Division with a regular season record of 38-30-4 and lost in the first round of the playoffs.
The Mavericks will face less of Tulsa, Wichita and Allen to make way for new faces, including the Greenville Swamp Rabbits (November 1) and the Atlanta Gladiators (November 3 and 4). Greenville finished the regular season with a record of 40–26-6 and were unable to make it out of the first round of the playoffs. The Atlanta Gladiators ended the 16-17 season with the sixth worse record in the ECHL, 27-37-8.
