Independence, Mo. – The Kansas City Mavericks will announce a new NHL and AHL affiliation on Thursday, June 8 at 2 p.m. at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena.
The announcement comes one week after a name change to the Kansas City Mavericks, punctuating the start of a new era of Mavericks hockey. The club is set to enter its fourth season in the ECHL, working as the affiliate of the New York Islanders for the previous two seasons.
Representatives of the Mavericks available to media will include owner Lamar Hunt, Jr., general manager Brent Thiessen and head coach John-Scott Dickson. One member of the administration of the new NHL affiliate will also be in attendance for the event.
