Mavs Minutes

Coop Keeps Scoring
Mark Cooper’s second period goal extended his scoring streak to five games, with four goals and two assists in that span. Cooper’s recent run has moved him into sole possession of second place in the Mavericks’ scoring ranks, surpassing injured Matt Robertson.

A First Time For Everything
Last night’s game was the first time in the history of the series between Kansas City and Cincinnati that the Mavericks left a game against the Cyclones without a point. Kansas City entered the game with a 6-0-0-1 mark against Cincinnati in the all-time series.

Fast Start Key
A fast start is one of the keys for Kansas City in tonight’s game as the Cyclones are 16-5-1-0 on the year when scoring first, including last night’s win. The first period is also Cincinnati’s strength this year, owning a plus-11 scoring margin in the first 20 minutes of play on the season.

Bouncing Back
For the third-straight weekend, the Mavericks began a weekend series with a loss. In each of the last two weeks they responded with a win on Saturday, getting their first of two against Toledo two weeks ago and earning a series split against Rapid City last weekend.
