INDEPENDENCE, Mo. – The Kansas City Mavericks have added forward Garrett Klotz to the roster, announced Tuesday by the club.
Klotz, 29, was a third-round pick of the Philadelphia Flyers (66th overall) in the 2007 NHL Draft. He has played in 26 games in the ECHL this season, split between Quad City and Jacksonville, posting one assist and accruing 83 penalty minutes.
The 6-foot-5, 234-pound forward has played in the ECHL since the 2012-13 season with the exception of 2016-17 in which he went overseas to play in Britain’s Elite Ice Hockey League.
In his last full season of play in the ECHL, Klotz totaled five points (1G+4A) with 119 penalty minutes with the Elmira Jackals.
The Regina, Saskatchewan native has played professionally since the 2008-09 season, debuting with the AHL’s Philadelphia Phantoms and remaining in the AHL through the 2010-11 season.
