On The Road Again
The Mavericks take to the road after concluding a season-long eight-game home stand last weekend with a pair of games against Cincinnati. Kansas City begins the brief three-game road swing to Ohio with a record of 14-9-0-0 away from Silverstein Eye Centers Arena on the season.
Goalie Tyler Parsons was reassigned to Kansas City, announced Thursday by the Mavericks and Stockton Heat. Parsons owns a record of 11-9-0-0 in 22 games in the ECHL this season with a 2.97 Goals Against Average and .908 Save Percentage. He recently earned his first AHL win in a start against San Jose on Saturday.
Coop, There It Is
Mark Cooper enters Thursday’s game against Cincinnati on a six-game scoring streak, with four goals and three assists in that span. Cooper has taken over sole possession of second place on the Mavericks’ roster for scoring on the year, trailing only Stockton’s Mike McMurtry’s 32 points.
The Mavericks enter the game seeded fourth in the Central Division standings with 51 points, jumped by Kalamazoo (52 points) last night. The Central has a log jam for the third, fourth and fifth rungs on the ladder, Kalamazoo with 52 points, KC with 51 and Cincinnati with 50. The Wings have two games in hand on the Mavericks and the Cyclones have three. Tonight’s game is the final contest for the season for the Mavericks against either Kalamazoo or Cincinnati.
