McDonald Recalled to AHL Stockton Heat

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. – Goalie Mason McDonald has been recalled to the Stockton Heat, announced Monday by the Mavericks' AHL affiliate.

The move is the fourth transaction among Mavericks goaltenders in the last five days.

McDonald, 21, joins former Maverick teammate Tyler Parsons in Stockton. Parsons was called up to join the Heat on Friday, a day after playing for the Mavericks on Thursday, and started Stockton’s Sunday game before exiting early with an injury.

The call-up is the fourth of the season for the Halifax, Nova Scotia native. McDonald owns a record of 10-12-0-1 for the year with the Mavericks to go with a 3.22 Goals Against Average and .892 Save Percentage.

Chris Nell, who occupied the blue paint for the Mavericks in four games before being reassigned by the New York Rangers to AHL Hartford on Saturday.

Today’s move leaves the Mavericks without a goalie on their roster.

The Mavericks begin an eight-game home stand on Friday against the Indy Fuel to kick off a weekend triple-header. Tickets for all three games, including HoKCey Is For Everyone Night on Saturday and Faith and Family Night on Sunday, are on sale now.
