INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - The Kansas City Mavericks start their preparations for the upcoming season with the team’s preseason camp, starting Monday.

Monday, Oct. 2 - Player physicals and team meetings.
Tuesday, Oct. 3 - First on-ice practice - 10 a.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 4 - On-ice practice - 10 a.m.
Black-Orange Game - 6 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 5 - Team practice - 9:45 a.m.
Depart for Allen exhibition games - 11 a.m.
Friday, Oct. 6 - Exhibition game at Allen - 8:45 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 7 - Exhibition game at Allen - 5:30 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 8 - Off day.
Monday, Oct. 9 - On The Bench Crew filming - 9:30 a.m.
Team practice - 10 a.m.
Season kickoff meet-and-greet at Red Robin - 6 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 10 - Jr. Mavs Golf Tournament - all day
Wednesday, Oct. 11 - Team picture and internal media day
Team practice - 10:30 a.m.
Thursday, Oct. 12 - Depart for season opener at Tulsa

The Mavericks have added Keegan Bruce and Lawrence Cornellier to the camp on tryout agreements.
Bruce, 25, wrapped up his collegiate career at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point last season, posting career highs of 24 goals, 19 assists, 43 points and 43 penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 170-pound forward got his first taste of post-college hockey with seven games with the SPHL’s Fayetteville FireAntz, finishing with one assist.
Cornellier, 26, spent last season with the SPHL’s Columbus Cottonmouths, finishing with 51 points (27G+24A) and 19 penalty minutes in 56 games. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound forward played college hockey at St. Scholastica College, finishing strong with career highs of 15 goals, 19 assists and 34 points during his senior campaign.

The Mavericks will hold their annual Black-Orange intrasquad game, free and open to the public, on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 6 p.m. Doors will open for season ticket holders at 4 p.m. The game will be the fans’ first chance to watch the Mavericks hit the ice.
The game will feature two periods of 15-minute, running clock action followed by a third period of regular timing and a shootout.
Players will sign autographs after the game.
Kansas City opens its season on the road at Tulsa on Friday, Oct. 13 at 7:05 p.m. and will open its home schedule on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 7:05 p.m. against Wichita. Season tickets, mini packs and single-game tickets remain on sale.
