The Kansas City Mavericks are proud to be a part of the Greater Kansas City Community, providing quality family-friendly entertainment, and striving to give back to the community as much as possible.
Since the Mavs' inaugural season in 2009, the team has helped raise more than one million dollars for charitable organizations throughout the entire region. The Mavericks support the community through a number of endeavors including; in-kind donations for charitable causes, volunteerism, sponsorship of local events, hosting fundraising initiatives such as the annual Dinner on Ice, as well as facilitating fundraising opportunities at the arena.
The Mavericks received the were recognized by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City with the John J. "Buck" O'Neil Diamond MVP Award in 2017, Truman Heartland Community Foundation as the Corporate Citizen of the Year in 2016 and by the City of Independence in 2014 with the Harry S. Truman Special Community Recognition Award for their outstanding philanthropic contributions to the Independence area over the last 5 years.
