MOLINE, Ill. (March 18, 2017) — The Missouri Mavericks dropped their second consecutive game to the Quad City Mallards on Saturday, losing 5-0.
The Mallards earned a 1-0 lead as Sam Warning picked up his 19th goal of the season beating Mavericks goaltender Josh Robinson to the glove side. Quad City extended their lead later in the period as Chase Lang netted his 3rd goal of the season.
The Mallards found the net again 8:52 into the second period. Justin Kovacs buried his 15th goal of the season on a Mallards four on three power play. Guillaume Gelinas made it 4-0 for Quad City with 2:17 left in the period.
Andrew Panzarella closed out the scoring for the Mallards, making it 5-0 with 10:59 left in the game. Adam Vay earned the shutout with 33 saves on the evening. Josh Robinson made 32 saves in a losing effort for the Mavericks.
