INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - The Kansas City Mavericks completed a future consideration trade with Kalamzoo, sending the rights to Eric Scheid to the Wings.
The move closes the book on a trade deadline deal in which the Mavericks acquired forward Justin Breton in March. Breton finished the season with three points, all assists, for Kansas City in 12 games played.
The 6-foot-1 forward had also spent time with Alaska prior to Kalamazoo and then Kansas City in the 2016-17 season, and he posted a season total of 21 points (9G+12A) in 59 total games.
The Fitchburg, Massachusetts native Breton is set to enter his fourth season in the ECHL with the 2017-18 campaign.
Kansas City is set to open its season on Oct. 13 at Tulsa, the first of four road games prior to the team's home opener on Saturday, Oct. 28 against Wichita at 7:05 p.m. Season tickets are currently on sale.
