INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - Kansas City Mavericks President and General Manager Brent Thiessen announced Sunday that the team has completed a future considerations trade with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits.
The Mavericks have sent goalie Ty Rimmer to Greenville for future considerations.
Kansas City signed Rimmer during the offseason as the team's lone goalie signing. Last week the Mavericks received Mason McDonald and Tyler Parsons from the team’s AHL affiliate, the Stockton Heat. Both goalies are former second-round selections in the NHL Draft, McDonald in 2014 and Parsons in 2016.
McDonald, 21, played his first professional season last year with Adirondack, posting an .897 Save Percentage and 2.72 Goals Against Average in 29 games. He also played one game with the Stockton Heat a year ago. Parsons, 20, is set to make his professional debut in the 2017-18 campaign and is coming off a year in which he claimed the best Save Percentage (.925) in the OHL as well as a U-20 World Junior Championship gold medal with Team USA.
The team opens its season at Tulsa on Friday, Oct. 13 at 7:05 p.m. and will hold its home opener on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 7:05 p.m. against Wichita. Season tickets, mini packs and single-game tickets remain on sale.
