11/15/24 - Damien Giroux and Landon McCallum visit October's "Top Classroom of the Month" from Mac's Power Play Reading Club 

Damien Giroux, Landon McCallum, and Mac recently visited the first "Top Classroom of the Month" from Mac's Power Play Reading Club. Madison Boynton’s 5th grade class at William Yates Elementary School read an impressive 37,610 minutes in October! Each month, a few players, along with Mac, will visit the class that reads the most minutes as part of the KC Mavericks' new literacy program. 11/14/24 - KC Mavericks Have their Second Coaches Show at Cactus Grill 

Mavericks coaches, along with players Max Andreev, Daniel Amesbury, and Victor Ostman, hosted their second Coaches Show of the season at Cactus Grill in Leawood, KS, one of their newest partners. The show, streamed live exclusively on 810 Sports Radio in which players and coaches discussions about the start of the hockey season and how the team plans to build on their early success throughout the rest of the year.

11/12/24 - David Cotton and Max Andreev Team Up with Travis Kelce to support Operation Breakthrough 

Both David Cotton and Max Andreev were celebrity captains at Travis Kelce's Celebrity Challenge in support of Operation Breakthrough! Both Cotton and Andreev joined other star athletes in the KC community to help bring recognition to Operation Breakthrough's ignition lab, which is designed to help empower the next generation of entrepreneurs! 10/29/24 - Mavs Players Enjoy a Day With Furry Friends 

A few Mavericks players went to spend the afternoon with our friends at Wayside Waifs to create content for our social media accounts, as well as our video boards to display throughout the entire month of November to showcase our partnership with Wayside! 10/28/24 - Mavericks Host Their First Off-Site Practice 

To begin a new week, the Mavericks switched things up with a practice at KCIC in Shawnee, KS, home of the local youth hockey team, the Kansas City Stars! Members of the Stars organization enjoyed a live Mavericks practice and created lasting memories with a chance to take photos and get autographs from our players afterward.

10/16/24 - Mavericks Host their first 810 Sports Radio Coaches Show of the 2024/2025 Season:

Staying strong during the first full week of the new season, the KC Mavericks and a few players joined 810 Sports Radio for our first Coaches Show! We discussed all things hockey and shared exciting insights about what’s to come this season.

9/29/24 - Mavs Participate in Wayside Waifs Strutt w/ Your Mutt 

The Mavericks were thrilled to participate in Wayside Waifs' "Strutt w/ Your Mutt" event in the Brookside Neighborhood of Kansas City, MO. We joined in the celebration of our furry friends at the largest dog-friendly walk/run event. Wayside Waifs is dedicated to helping abandoned, abused, and homeless pets find a second chance at life. This season, our partnership with Wayside Waifs focuses on addressing this issue head-on by offering a KC Mavericks/Wayside Waifs branded dog leash to anyone who adopts a dog during their month of emphasis in November! 9/24/24 - Coach Tad teams up with Variety KC for their Request-a-Thon

The Mavericks’ newest Community Partner hosted a Request-a-Thon on KC 102.1 radio station from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The event raised an impressive $192,890. One of the highlights of the day was Head Coach and GM Tad O'Had, who made a special appearance on the radio alongside Mac. Together, they created unforgettable memories for new families in Variety KC by presenting gifts to those joining the Variety KC family.
