FORWARD BOSTON LEIER JOINS THE MAVERICKS

FORWARD BOSTON LEIER JOINS THE MAVERICKS

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. – The Kansas City Mavericks announced the signing of forward Boston Leier Friday.

Leier, a five-foot-ten, 187-pound, 27-year-old forward from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan joins the Mavericks after appearing in 29 games for the Kalamazoo Wings last season. Last season, he totaled 19 points on ten goals and nine assists for the Wings.  

“Leier is considered to be one of the finest 200-foot forwards in the ECHL,” Head Coach Tad O’Had said. “He finished the season in Charlotte in the AHL. Leier possesses the ability to be an excellent addition to the forward line-up defensively and offensively. He adds grit, skill and an incredible compete level.”

He played four seasons at Acadia University, where he compiled 139 points on 66 goals and 73 assists.

Mavericks defenseman Zach Osburn has been loaned to the Tucson Roadrunners of the American Hockey League.

The Mavericks have also signed Emergency Backup Goaltender Jay Stevens.

The Mavericks faceoff against the Utah Grizzlies tonight at 8:05 p.m. at the Maverik Center
