The Kansas City Mavericks and the ECHL announced today the 72-game 2023-24 regular season schedule.
The Mavericks will begin their 15th season of professional hockey on October 20 as part of a back-to-back with the Wichita Thunder. Kansas City plays at Wichita and will have its home opener the following night, Saturday, October 21, at 6:05 PM at Cable Dahmer Arena.
“As we embark on our 15th season as the longest-tenured hockey team in Kansas City, I’m happy to say this is the best schedule we have had in recent years,” said Mavericks Owner Lamar Hunt Jr. “We are extremely excited about the upcoming season.”
There is a slight change to the timing of games this season for the Mavericks. Weeknight games from Monday through Thursday will begin at the traditional 7:05 PM time, with puck drop on Friday nights taking place at 7:35 PM. Saturday games will begin an hour earlier than in previous seasons, starting at 6:05 PM.
For the third-straight year, the Mavericks will host their annual Kids Day Game at 10:35 AM on Tuesday, November 7 against the Allen Americans at Cable Dahmer Arena. For the 15th-straight season, Kansas City will also play a home game on New Year’s Eve at 7:05 PM against the Wichita Thunder.
Additionally, for the first time in eight years, the Mavericks will play on Halloween. With a 7:05 PM puck drop, Kansas City will host the Rapid City Rush on October 31.
Sixty-nine of the 72 regular season games will be played against Western Conference opponents. From November 29-December 2, the Mavericks will play three road games against the Worcester Railers and Maine Mariners.
Theme and promo nights for the 2023-24 season will be announced at a later date.
