INDEPENDENCE, MO – The Kansas City Mavericks announced the signing of Nolan Orzeck for the 2026-27 season.
Orzeck, 25, out of Calgary, Alberta, joins the Mavericks on the verge of reaching 100 career professional points. Through 229 professional games, he has recorded 95 points while spending time with the Iowa Heartlanders, Allen Americans, and Atlanta Gladiators in the ECHL, as well as playing professionally in Europe.
Traded to the Atlanta Gladiators in December of the 2025-26 season, Orzeck finished second among the club’s defensemen with 25 points. Just one month after the trade, he scored the game-winning goal against the Florida Everblades. Now entering his fifth professional season, Orzeck sits just five points shy of reaching 100 professional points and needs just seven points to reach 100 ECHL points. Already the Iowa Heartlanders all-time leading scorer among defensemen, Orzeck will look to bring his playmaking ability and two-way game to the Mavericks as they pursue a fourth consecutive Mountain Division championship.
