MAVS AND THUNDER POSTPONED DUE TO UNPLAYABLE CONDITIONS

MAVS AND THUNDER POSTPONED DUE TO UNPLAYABLE CONDITIONS

WICHITA, Ks. – The Kansas City Mavericks and Wichita Thunder played six minutes and 27 seconds of hockey Friday night at INTRUST Bank Arena before the game was postponed due to unplayable ice conditions. Play will resume at 4:00pm on Sunday afternoon at INTRUST Bank Arena. If fans had tickets for Friday’s game, they are redeemable for Sunday’s game.

First Period-Mavs forward C.J. Eick opened up the scoring 3:35 into the first period. Defenseman Justin Woods assisted on the goal.-Wichita tied the game at the -Referees initiated the first intermission after an issue with the playing surface stopped play at the 6:27 mark of the first period. After a hour-plus delay, the game was postponed for Sunday, December 1 at 4:00 p.m.

Notes & Streaks-CJ Eick has three goals in his last four games.

The Mavericks and Thunder will play a full game as scheduled on Saturday night at INTRUST Bank Arena Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. before resuming tonight’s game on Sunday afternoon at 4:00pm. The Mavs return home to Silverstein Eye Centers Arena for a Friday night contest against the Thunder on December 6. Kansas City then welcomes the Fort Wayne Komets on December 7 for Marvel Super Hero Night and annual Teddy Bear Toss. For ticket info, visit ticketmaster.com.
